I live in Kent and have been noticing anything between 3 and 20 price drops a day on propertybee. The 'nicer' end of the town I live in (not my end of town) just kept going up and up, but is now dropping just as much as the not so nice end. So all the people at my childrens school that wanted to buy there partly because it would always (in their words) 'hold it's value because it was sought after' are now being proved wrong.

in our s/e postcode bn16/17 house prices seem to be falling noticed this morning quite a few sold around 150k so the cheaper 3 beds seem to be moving though how many come back on in the next week or 2 will be interesting
the dearer new builds are struggling though noticed 4 3 bed town houses with views over the river were all slashed from 320k to 285k 3 days ago

.we our looking around the 250-300k mark plenty seem to have come in from 320/330 to 300 just need to wait for the next step down. we viewed loads yesterday, had a phone call from 1 agent we 2nd viewed earlier in week to say an offer had been made ,have a feeling they were just attempting to make us put an offer in as oh had told them it was perfect for us & they knew we were viewing others this weekend. oh really wanted it , i would rather complete on ours & go on holiday & relook at the end of the year when then spring bounce has gone:rotfl:
  • Prices are definitely now falling in Guildford. More so, not in the centre (10-15%), but also in centre (5-10%).

Houses over £1m are experiencing massive reductions (200k).

And I concur with above, the standard family houses (sub 500k this is Guildford!) in good catchment areas are falling too.

Thats because 99% of the people who come out with stuff like that have absolutely no clue what the economic fundamentals are that underpin something 'holding its value'

These are now on their third price reduction since the original sales brochure was printed.

Has anyone been keeping an eye on prices in Canterbury at all since the crunch?

I'd be interested to know if prices have dropped there over the period.
