    ok...let me explain this again.
in my initial acceptance phone call to virgin/mbna i was informed by the cs that my bt fee was £101.47 (which i understand and do not contend) she also told me to add £25 additional minimum payment so the 0% interest rate would apply for 15 months.

however, my statement has arrived and states my minimum payment is £101.47

if i just paid what was requested on my statement i would get the 0% interest rate taken away. luckily the nice cs had the decency to advise me otherwise...apparently it's not always the case.

    this is why it's misleading!!!

    Let me explain this again!
What you believe you were told on the phone by the CS rep is incorrect.
You need to pay the the minimum amount as printed on your statement by the due date in order to keep your promotional offer.
If you pay the £101.47 as on your statement by the due date you will not lose your 0% interest free period.
The printed statement is not misleading.

so, contrary to what other posters have said about being misled the same way and having their 0% int free period being withdrawn...your advice to me would be to not heed them or the cs at virgin/mbna and just pay the £101.47 as on the statement?

Which other posters have been misled in the way you describe?
The only posts I have seen relating to the withdrawal of the promotional rate have been because the payment has been late or less than the minimum required amount as printed on the statement.

Im not advising you to take any particular action.
I'm stating that the credit card statement is not misleading.

The CS rep, if she told you to add £25 to the minimum required payment, in order to keep your promotional rate for 15 months, was incorrect.
The terms and conditions relating to the card agreement are here:-
    https://wwwa.applyonlinenow.com/UKCCapp/Ctl/display?pageid=pdfDisclosure
You will find nothing about adding £25 to the minimum.

I too have just made my first payment on a Virgin card and have paid the minimum amount by DD. This is not my first Virgin/MBNA card and I always pay the minimum requested on the statement (until the end of the promotional period) and this has never resulted in the withdrawal of the offer, nor would I expect it to.

The link is not working ..
NOH MY friend was told exactly same thing, i even queried it here about a month ago. 3000 bt minimum payment = 114.40 as stated on initial call to MBNA when card was approved. so you can see 2 people getting misled or don,t you believe that MBNA CSA can be that careless in quoting incorrect payment figures!!!

    edited for more info . 89.40 +25 = 114.40

Clio we seem to be at cross purposes. I read your post here concerning your friends experience and see that they were told the same as qol by the CS rep.
I fully agree with you that the CS rep was giving out misleading and incorrect information in both cases. You and I both agree on that.

queen of leon is stating that the printed statement is misleading and she believes the CS rep to be correct - this is what I disagree with.

Have changed the link in my previous post

Minimal payment on my first statement was equal to transfer fee, no extra 25 on top of it. Your next minimum payments will be 25.

i think YB has got mine and your questions mixed up...he's probably been on the drink! ;)
No I haven't. You're both asking the same question..."how much is my first minimum payment/how is it calculated?".

You're also both stating that you were mis-informed by MBNA customer services. On this point you may wish to raise a complaint and ask that they be (re)trained.

no that's not what i asked...i asked if virgin/mbna were deliberately trying to mislead people

to be honest nigel...i haven't kept a log of the posts i've read but feel free to scour the site if you want to. and i didn't say the statement was misleading but the contradiction between the statement and what i was advised by the csa was misleading. and wondered if this was deliberate on their behalf. thank you for clarifying the siuation and everyone for their posts
