Hi
Very new on here so here goes, i recently applied for a credit card AFTER checking my credit file, which was fine except for only having 1 credit agreement - my house.
The rejection letter gives details of where to appeal to but i was wondering what type of information i should include in order to reverse their decision?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Any questions???
Thanks

Which card did you apply for and do you think you've met their criteria?0

abbey 0% cc - not sure of their criteria, i checked my experian credit file beforehand and was fine (in my opinion)0

which CRA did you apply to? they all carry different details. i know they are supposed to share their info but i've seen posts on here of people applying to the lenders which use the CRA with the most favourable info about them.
eg. the co-op bank uses experian and not equifax or call credit...if your experian report is good then you have a better chance with the co-op.
i hope that makes sense...but i'd advise you to look at martin's tips. click on the cards/loans tab at the top of this page and search for "credit reference agencies-who uses who"0 -
used experian - my credit history is one of not having one really. only have 1 active credit account which has a lot of green zeros next to it. hopefully upon appeal will be reversed - just wanted to see if anyone else had come across the same issue and how they worded their letter of appeal. dont want to apply for another one yet as multiple searches (and maybe rejections) will have a negative affect on credit file.0

yeah, you're quite right about the negative affect on your credit file...and the fact you have a short credit history probably explains why you were declined.
all i can suggest is that you put in proof that you can afford the loan and point out that because your credit history is short doesn't mean it's bad etc.
but beware...they may see your desperation and raise the APR!!
did it myself last year...declined, appealled then got offered a ridiculous rate : (0
