Direct flights to San Francisco

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere. Are there any other airlines apart from Virgin who fly direct to San Francisco from any airport in the UK?

Thanks

BA and United also fly direct from Heathrow.

I think that comment is about a month out of date. Maybe you forget that T5 was built and designed as the most modern and state of the art terminal in the world.

BA has, for the last three weeks had better punctuality that it has in the history of the airline and bags arrive on the carousel within around 5-10 minutes of arrival.

In fact, of the last 4 times I've arrived at T5, the flight has arrived early and my bag has been on the belt by the scheduled arrival time.

People who rule out T5 based on the operational problems of the first week are really missing out. I don't think I could ever go back to the skanky, dirty T3. The place makes you feel like you've been violated.

If you fly with United be prepared to have your flight delayed or cancelled. I flew with them from Heathrow to SF and that flight was cancelled for 24 hours. The following day the flight was delayed, flight from SF to LA was delayed. Managed to get a flight from with Delta from LA to Maui and that was on time. My return flights with United from Maui to SF was delayed and the flight from SF to Heathrow was delayed  I wouldn't fly with them again.

    .

Who said I was talking about T5.

My comments were about BA and their sheer contempt towards their customers.

BA have no control over how your bag transfers and is loaded/offloaded to their planes.

That is purely down to BAA.

The only thing BA are responsible for is dealing with you when/if your bag goes missing, and they tend to use sub contractors who deal with that which is where the bad service comes from.

To be honest, given the millions of bags that ransfer every day, a very very small percentage get delayed/go missing, its amazing!

You've clearly had a bad experience. That doesn't mean that BA don't provide outstanding service to 99.9% of other people. They operate out of T5 for goodness sake, a terminal whcih enables them to get you from entrance to departures in less than 10 minutes. T5 is massive advantage over every other airline in this country. The lounges are by far the most luxurious in the world.

However, dont try this! They how have a policy of refusing passengers if they attempt to go through security less that 30 minutes before the flight departure.
