Silley Credit Card Limit !

in Credit cards
Evening, i'm new to the forum world and would love some help on the following topic.
I have a Credit Card with Abbey with what can only be described as a "stupid" limit, circa 75% of my annual sallary. This limit was increased over and over again when the account was not in use, something I simply ignored.
Following the death of my father, quickly followed by my mother-in-law, finances became tight as my wife was forced to reduce her working hours to care for our children, leading to the use of the above account being used, up to the limit.
Has anyone challenged a Credit Card Company for irresponsibly allowing limits to go so high ?
Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Why not take responsibility for your own actions rather than trying to blame the bank. At any time you could have telephoned Abbey and asked them to reduce your credit limit. You did not have to use it !Charles J0

Not that I know of. I'm expecting a set of replies saying that no-one forced you to spend the money.
You may have some leeway if they try and get you to pay back more than you can afford but there won't be much sympathy for spending it in the first place, I'm afraid. For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070 -

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -

Every so often there is a call of a FAQ for this forum, and I think this would be one of the questions on there. I concur with those above, it's your debt, take responsibility.
I also feel I should mention that silly is spelt S-I-L-L-Y. It doesn't have an E in there!0 -
Nobody made you spend the money, nobody else should take responsibility for paying it back.
If you have so little self control that you'll spend up to the limit on any card you're given, I suggest avoiding credit cards.0 -

So you had use of the money but now want to blame the Credit Company for making the funds available to you. Are you taking the p.ss or what!0 -
