Courier to collect solid wood work top

I want to buy a wooden worktop off e-bay but most sellers are collection only and are too far away (south England and I am in N Wales) Are there any courier/ collection services that people can recommend for this type of item?
Many thanks

They vary between 2 and 3 meters long and 0.5m wide and the courier thread reckoned that very few couriers would take something like this and were recommending hiring a van - but will cost a fortune to hire and drive (have you seen the cost of diesel  that's why I was asking as this is something quite specific (and pretty heavy!!!)

Don't forget though to ask the seller if they are happy about using a courier, I certainly wouldn't be. If I want something collected it is ebcause I can arrange a specific time to be at home, a courier is likely to want a 6-8 hour time slot. There is also the problem of packaging, again if you collect you can worry about all that but a courier is going to want some packing if only to protect the surfaces.

That's even before you run into the issue of how to pay with all the related issues about paypal.

Umm - see your point Soolin - there is one that is offering delivery for £55 or collection though they are in Leicester so that's a bit closer
