Pulled Listing

Earlier today I had an item pulled by ebay because I included postal orders as one of the methods of payment.
It is clearly states in accepted payments the following
Permitted on eBay.co.uk
Sellers may offer to accept:
  • PayPal, credit cards (including MasterCard, Visa, Amex), debit cards, and bank electronic payments for eBay purchases.
  • Bank-to-bank transfers, often known as bank wire transfers or bank cash transfers.
  • Cash on Collection (COC) or cash for in-person transactions.
  • Personal cheques, postal orders, banker’s drafts, certified cheques, and other negotiable instruments.
I had an item removed last week because I included stamps, fair enough not on list. I have replied to email asking for a reason but has any one else been having this happen? The items were only low value ie knitting patterns and wool so I prefer not to use paypal although will have to soon

I have other listings stating postal orders as a method of payment which have not been pulled ie 310045503329. Will be interested in your comments!

Does the email actually state that postal orders is the problem or is the generic 'not approved payment methods' email? There is nothing else going on is there, discounts for not using paypal or such like?

Although having said all that there does appear to be random problems at the moment with listings getting pulled for no obvious reasons.

yes it clearly states postal orders as the reason, I don't offer discounts

We appreciate that you chose eBay to list your auction-style listing(s). However, we have removed your listing because it breached our Accepted Payments policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

Why did we remove your listing?

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

    Postal orders

You may offer to accept PayPal, credit cards including MasterCard/Visa /Amex, debit cards and bank electronic payments online for eBay purchases. You may also offer to accept bank-to-bank transfers, often known as bank wire transfers or bank cash transfers. You may only accept cash if it's on delivery or cash for in-person transactions.

You may offer to accept personal cheques, money orders, cashier's cheques, certified cheques and other negotiable instruments. You're not allowed to request payment through online payment methods specifically banned by our accepted payments policy.

For more information on Accepted Payments copy this link into a new browser window:
I will let you know if 'they' reply to my email

Yes I quoted this policy in my original post, Stuart P so why does it breach their policy?
I have just had an ebay message from another purchaser of a similar item and it states she is sending a postal order. No problem with this one so whats going on?

Looking at your auction I'm wondering if they saw the bit about not accepting paypal on items less than £25 and forgot to check that you had actually NOT ticked the 'I accept paypal ' box.

Under current rules of course you do not have to accept paypal and have quite corerectly not ticked the I accept paypal box bit..don't forget though that in a few weeks time you will have to list with that box ticked and will not be able to add any exclusions. Maybe they are just jumping the gun here?

The only other thing I've noticed, and it doesn't make any sense nor have I seen any announcements, is that postal orders is no longer an option under payment. When I list I used to be able to choose cheques as well as postal orders, suddenly the postal order option has disappeared and I have a completely different set of options including something or other 'on demand' (can't remember what it is called. Have they changed something and not told us and not updated their acceptable list?

Sorry I promise I will stop posting in a minute but this has puzzled me. I did a google search and there is a thread on the ebay forum suggesting that postal orders are temporarily banned
