Changed mind about selling?

I was selling an item for my sister - the item has ended with bids. She has now decided she no longer wants to sell, but the item was sold under my account, so the onus is on me now to sort this out. I don't particularly want a neg, as due to one neg, I am at 98.something% feedback!

What can I do? Just let the buyer know? Is that ok to do under eBay rules?
We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic. ;)

Also, can I get my FVF back even if the buyer doesnt agree to do a mutual thing?

No it's not ok to do it, but if you can't force your sister to part with the item the best thing to do is tell the buyer the truth, apologise profusely and hope they will agree to a mutual

if they decline to agree to the mutual then you can't get your fees back any other way

Thanks, I don't think I can make my sister sell the item if she no longer wants to, but she can foot the FVF bill!!

lol, although i did mention charging her a rip off 20% to sell her stuff from now on - she seemed to think that was reasonable! :rotfl: ;)

Don't forget as well that a non performing seller complaint and a neg on a small selling account is going to get you dangerously close to the 'bottom 5% of sellers' rule and a possible suspension. Also as a buyer there would be no way at all i would agree to accept a mutual..and would probably neg anyway for the cheek of asking, so you can probably wave all your fees goodbye.
