New look search!

Between this morning and now the search style has changed for me. Is this a new thing that's here to stay? It's not good!

uh-oh! Are you one of the 10% who is getting the new Best Match display?

If the address bar shows http://shop.ebay.... etc, then you are seeing a trial. So far nobody has liked the trial, and it has been in place for about 2 months now, but eBay are still persevering with it for some reason.

I've already made a blog post about how ineffective it is, and that by searching for a 4gb SD memory card, I was being shown 1gb cards, memory cards for PC's and birthday cards.

I had the new search appear a few weeks ago and luckily a few days after it vanished and I have the old search back! I hope the old search stays.

Same here, the one thing I did like though was adjusting the results per page (like you do on feedback), instead of getting just 50.

If you run CCLEANER, it should get rid of the Cookie which ebay has put on your pc for the new search, and revert back to the old one, it did for me ,I found this out on ebays community

Oh, and the worst thing is spotting those items from abroad - in tiny writing under the item title.

I am getting the new "best match" search also. Quick question for you all....

If 10% of all e-bay users are also getting this, then surely it is limiting items they can view? (I went on to see my PS2 listing, and check progress amongst others - it didn't even show up! I had to manually change the search method to find it).

This means that, if people can't see it, they can't bid, therefore the end price is lower, surely?

Can't wait till I get asked for feedback and I explain how much it stinks.

Still there must be weak minded idiots out there who like the fuzzy searches and new listing result styles.
