Overheard on a mobile?

Are today's mobiles all Digital? I was ringing the bank the other day as i was asked was i calling from a mobile fone or could my conversation be overheard? I replied both to "No" as I was using the landline. But just wondered if it was safe to use your mobile when releasing sensitive info re: your bank account details etc in todays technology

Im with O2 and use a V3 if that's of any info

analoge mobile were on the way out before the Princess Dianna fiasco (where someone taped her intimate calls...not to Charles) and I think that incident being so highly publicised killed them completely.

Moblie phones (cell phones) are now all digial;

However, a lot of mobile phones (home/landline) are still analoge and therefore would allow someone with a scanner to capture the converstaions. Most home/landline phones are now digital and these are usually identifed as having DECT on the boxes of them.
