my mother currently has the broadband and call package with tiscali. she pays £9.35 line rental and £16.50 for 2mb broadband. and she gets free calls inclusive of the deal. she does not want the broadband anymore she doesnt use it. so i just tried the tiscali cancelation line but it closed at 6pm. they offer online, unlimited calls 24/7 for £7.99 per month and then the line rental £10.99 so £19 not sure if it inludes vat. but has anyone downgraded and still had to pay what a new customer would pay? would she lose the free calls she has at the mo, if she cancels the bb? if she didnt lose the free calls she wud in affect just be paying line rental. and help would be great many thanks.

Hmm. £17.98/month.
Sounds like a bit of a rip-off to me. Even BT offers line rental for £10.50 (if paid by DD and after paper-free billing discount) and inclusive UK 01/02/03 calls for £5.95/month - a total of £16.45/month.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
