Have you been claiming Tax Credits AND Childcare Vouchers???

Posted recently for advice as I realised we were claiming vouchers and TC. Finally got through to someone on Saturday who was brilliant (not something I expected at this time of year when they are busy with the renewal packs, or on a Saturday morning to be honest..)

Explained the situation and the advisor explained that due to my husbands and my income we actually claim very little in the childcare element of working tax credit and she "guaranteed" there would be little or none to pay back. Now I dont think she would stick her neck out but I cant see how this could be right when we have been giving them the wrong figures for nearly eighteen months but hey I am waiting not to hear from them.

We get the family element as well as the child element as we have a child aged 2 we both work and she is in nursery (comes to around £2208 per year) and the advisor told me that we would have been entitled to these elements anyway.

So I hope she is right, I would welcome any comments, but I know there are other people on here in the same situation and wanted to reassure them the best thing to do is just ring and get it sorted

well on a income of 20k with a toddler and no childcare we get 545 a year. That might help you work out what you go based on your income
