Childcare vouchers & relatives - does anyone know?

Our first baby is due in October and my wife being an accountant is looking at returning to work at around 3/4 months. So we're looking into childcare voucher schemes as her employer pays for them the first year.
On the websites regarding the vouchers it states relatives caring for the child at the childs address will not be qaulify for the vouchers.
Her mother is interested in caring for the bab but she would do it at her own address not the childs so with this in mind would she qualify for the vouchers - I have scoured the net but couldn't find any clarification on it does anyone know?
Thanks

Hiya,
Don't quote me on this but I think she would need to be OFSTED registered as a child minder and then I think she would qualify.
However, I might be totally wrong so I'd give Busy Bee's a call:

Your MIL would have to become an Ofsted registered childminder and be looking after at least 1 other child as well as your baby, if you are paying for childcare via tax credits, or childcare vouchers.0

Yes it must be with a registered childminder, and also, I suspect, not a relative, but that's off the top of my head. We use the vouchers, nice and easy, saves a few quid every week.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
