Please could you recommend a good Camera Phone.

It's my Dad's 70th birthday is in a couple of weeks and he would like a new simple to use (basic) mobile phone that has a good camera & is PAYG.

I had a look over the weekend and there is such a miriad of possibilities, thats why I was hoping you could suggest a make & model, as I would far rather go on recommendations than a sales pitch.

Ideally I would like to buy him one with at least a 2mp camera, thats has some zoom & preferably a flash, is this possible for a budget of upto £80?

Thanks in anticipation.
Dee.

K800i, my mum has one and I did before upgrading, you can get them for about £70 now if not less, they're fantastic with a Carl Zeiss lense and a proper flash.

Not too hard to pick up either

I'd recommend the 800i as well. My other half had one until if met an untimely end in the bottom of a pint of lager. Camera was great (3.2 mp) - lots of good features and easy to use. It can also be used for music although it doesn't have music shortcuts keys like the sony ericsson walkman range.

Just don't dunk it in a beer and it should be grand!

I have the N95 which is stunning - but to be honest there is probably many features that wouldn't be used . I think it'll be out of your price range.

    Happy shopping.

LG Viewty is a 5 mega pixel camera and is an all round briliant phone.

It beat the iphone as the best phone of 2007.

Very easy to use as well.

    Fantastic :)

I always found my old Nokia 6210i was brilliant for pictures too - I have an nokia N95 8GB but it and the k800i are my favourites over all.

Let us know how you get on with it :)

    k800i def

for a start the battery is only about 3hrs on the 6300 but if you turn off the 3g on the k800i (assuming he wont use the internet on the phone) it will last 7/8hrs plus the camera is just a million times better!
