Vodafone

I am currently with Vodafone and pay £25 a month for 400 minutes anytime any network.I am due an upgrade now,so i contacted Vodafone to see if i could squeeze antything more out of them. They told me if i found a better deal 9 out of 10 times they would match it.I looked around and then went back to them mentioning 3's offer of 500x net minutes + 100 txt.I Phoned back as suggested only to be told they could not do me any better offer then i already have.I told the operator that i would be cancelling my contract.
Any suggestions would be most welcomed.

I had to work really hard to get a better deal from Vodafone. I first called and they said they could discount 30% off my line rental but the phone I wanted would be £100.
I called back later and asked for the PAC, they then offered me the phone for £15 but I would have to switch to a new deal (that had less minutes than the previous one).

I was just contemplating giving one last call before giving up on them when they called me and asked why I had requested the PAC, and what could they do to keep me as a customer. I managed to get the phone I wanted free, plus a bluetooth headset and keep my existing deal with but with 6 months half price line rental. Result!

yes the upgrade people are a waste of space
Send them a written termination for the end of your 12 month contract and then wait for a phone call - basically any phone you want and a cheaper rate seems to be on offer even for £25 a month contracts
