I have got around £130 but would go to about £150 to spend on one. Could you give me a few suggestions on what one is the best for around that price.

That ones okay, but really speaking you want one that upscale to 1080 which is high defintion, this will upscale your normal dvd's to high defintion quality.

This does depend on whether you have got an hd lcd/plasma screen, heres the chepest i could find and it a right bargain from amazon for 99.99 apparantly on the philips site it is going for nearly 400 pound.

this one is 169.99 but is a good spec, but you can get 5% of withcode experienceo8 also you can get some money off if you go through quidco.

Just checked on another site the one from currys does upscale to 1080p so for that money its a bargain, i would get the one you first seen, if you go on amazon there are some good reviews for it and its abou 170 pound.

I would get the 5.1 one you found from currys, oh and heres a code for 5% discount code as long as you buy in april for home delivery its YAW935, enter it when you get to the checkout.

that will take it down 123 pound, which is even better.

heres a link to amazon for the same one you found it looks good and theres good reviews about it. and there selling it for a lot more.

    hope this helps confused

The Currys one does look like good value but it doesn't look like there are stands for the rear speakers also, how does it " Zoom in on any part of movie" ?
1000 watts rms...that's a bit hard to swallow!

Don't forget there is an alternative to the 'one box solution' If any part goes wrong, then your whole system suffers. On the Panasonic, for instance, if the dvd player breaks, then you are a bit stuck. You could add a separate dvd player but as there are only auxillary analogue stereo inputs you would lose your true 5.1 sound capabilties. Here's a budget system:

You would need to add a dvd player, but these are peanuts nowadays.

Disclaimer: I'm not suggesting this is the best approach for you, I'm sure the Panasonic system is very good. All I'm doing is making you aware of the possible pitfalls!:D

    D.

    According to the Panasonic website

    Front 2x125W RMS
    Rear 2x125W RMS
    Centre 250W
    Sub 250W

    Total 1000W RMS!

    (pretty good, actually!)
