Best product for removing minor paintwork scratches?

My husband is a valeter, they use T cut Original, it gets most light scratches and marks off. If the scratches are a bit deeper then they normally come out well with the electric buffers.
The black colour magic shown in the 2nd link you gave brings a black car up nice as a normal polish but doesnt do much for deeper scratches.0 -
Oh.. Ok..
So T-Cut original would be better than the one for black paint (in the tube, 1st link)
There's so many products, it boggles your mind!0 -
If you go onto the auto Express website product tests they did this product test only a week ago and Mer comes out very well. You can view the whole test and make your own mind up based on the tests carried out
HTH "Did you hear about the frog that broke down on the motorway???? They toad him away!"0 -

Mer is horrendous. It gets under the trim and then dries. You then spend weeks trying to scrape out white powder.0 -

That one is a bit more expensive, you could just buy the Original stuff it comes in a red bottle for about £6 and can be used on any colour paint. There are lots of products and you do have to be careful that you dont use anything harsh. My hubby has been valeting over 10 years and swears by T Cut, it also removes tar etc from bonnets. Why pay loads of money for anything overpriced we are MSE's
Another tip for anyone with a convertible with a soft rear window they use TCut on them brings them up like new.0 -
polishing wont get swirl marks out, but small scaratches try meguirs scratch x.i am new to this investing business and value peoples experience/opinions as a learning tool - thank you0

Yeah, I think it's a toss up between the T-Cut or the Meguirs stuff. Both are under a tenner, so if they dont work, its not a huge deal.0

I had some claw marks on my Mini Cooper S from my parents dog
Meguirs brought it up a treat. Thier whole range is brilliant0 -
I've done a bit more research, and many claim that T-Cut can be too abbraisive, and can dull the paintwork around the scratches, especially on mettalic paint.. which mine is. Also, as I have a few small scratches, they cover a larger area so the T-Cut will need to be supplied to a bigger area, in comparison to having just 1 isolated scratch.
The Meg Scratch X stuff though seems to be less severe, but then again.. a lot of people say it is better for swirl marks rather than scratches (mine definitely aren't swirl marks..)
I don't want to ruin the shine on the rest of my panel, so think the Scratch X stuff may be the best bet...0
