What to do in Scotland

Going up to Scotland in a weeks time with my Wife & In laws and wondered what I could do to entertain them.
Going as far as Balloch & then on to Callender before venturing back acrsoss the border.
Not particularly bothered about museums and castles, but more interested in local topics.
Any help would be gratefully received.
