Help... I'm going loopy trying to work this one out.
I have 6 A4 bitmap scans of a large drawing which I need to combine and resize into 1 A4 for emailing. Each bitmap is large, 11MB, and the only way I've managed to do this is using Microsoft Publisher. However, the resulting file is 68MB - even zipped this would be way too huge to email! My computer struggles sometimes even to open it...!
I would ideally like to end up with a single A4 page size jpg/bitmap/document - a double page at a push?!?
Don't have the original unfortunately - need to work from what I've got. I'm sure the answer is staring me in the face, I've been round all my photo programs and can't figure out what else to do.
Ideas anyone?

Money can't buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.

OK.
In your photo programs you should be able to adjust the image size (take copies of your images first, just in case). Reduce the size of each image. Then open a new piece of work the size of A4, and then copy and paste each of the images onto the new piece of work. You should be able to move them around how you need to.0 -
Also saving at as jepg will reduce the size of the image file considerably.
Bitmaps are literally "a map of bits of colour" so there is no compression involved.
Saving as jpeg will compress the image and reduce the size of the file.If you're feeling down, you must be holding a duck.0 -
adobe photoshop CS edition, has a macro to combine images on one canvas.

You could also use a free trial of Paint Shop Pro to do this. (visit download.com)If you're feeling down, you must be holding a duck.0

Thanks, sometimes the answer is starting you in the face!!! I wasn't having a good day yesterday!
I knew someone would have the answers. Just converting to JPG took the file size down from 11,000KB to 850KB (ish)! I'm amazed - never noticed that before. I'm new to scanning and didn't know what the best format was! Will play around, maybe download a trial of Paint Shop Pro if need be - many thanks.
