OMG.... PayPal Notification: Reversed Transaction

Hi guys,
Been a while since I have posted here due to various commitments, but I just HAD to let my frustration out!
To cut a long story short.....a buyer bought and paid for an item from me for a total cost of £25.98 on 27th Feb. So I did what I always do and posted the item out straight away on the 29th Feb, recorded delivery.
It arrived. It was signed for. It was a done deal. Then, 2 weeks later, Paypal email me and tell me his payment is now "on hold" while an investigation is taking place due to a bank reversal. That's not fair I think, it's my money now! But I follow what they ask and send them all of the various details, buyers name, address, tracking number etc - so they can see it has been delivered. So of course I expected to get my money back again.
Today, i got this email:
We have conducted a review of a payment that you received. In this case, returning the funds to the sender was determined to be the appropriate action, and we have completed a reversal of the payment. Good selling practices like trackable delivery, prompt postage and communication between buyer and seller help prevent disputes.
I am in absolute shock. If I did everything correctly, how can Paypal have the nerve to STEAL money back out of my account. I have PROOF that the item was delivered, what more do they want? I just can't believe it. I have emailed them back asking for at least an explanation of why they have taken this money back and what I did wrong, but from what I have read on the net I wont be expecting to see that money.
£26 is not a biggie, I can live without it. BUT a) it is about justice and them taking MY money and b) imagine if it had been a much larger amount of money!! Now that would have been worrying.
So I just wanted to get other peoples opinions on this and if they have experienced it before and if they managed to get thier money back.
Paypal are very, very cheeky ********!!!!!!
One very annoyed, Josh.

I have had exactly the same thing this week but for £3.49. I know it's not as much as yours but exactly the same thing with a bank reversal. I just wouldn't have thought it would have been worth it for £3.49.
I did exactly the same as you posted the day after payment (which she paid after 7 days of the close of auction), posted by recorded etc etc.
I guess I will just sit back and wait to loose the £3.49 completley.
The only bright side is that I forgot to leave her feedback so after she didn't reply to my email asking what was going on after 5 days I left her a neg, all for £3.49.I'm an Ogre0 -
i had the same last week, for a total of £3.25,i mean come on is it worth the hassle to get £3.25?
still had no communication from the buyer, maybe he is having problems with his email account. (i know nothing honest)
so i left a neg, opened an unpaid dispute to at least get my listing fees back....work permit granted!0 -
Thanks for your responses. It does take the p***!
I have sold well over a 1000 items on eBay, not one neg, how can they just take the money from me? It's disgusting.
And the swine left me good feedback, so I did the same, and now he won't email me back and I have left feedback, great. If Paypal don't look at the case as a 100% fair mediator, then something is very corrupt in the system and something needs to be done about it! I will be ringing them up when I get some free time. The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0 -
im the same, over 1000 feedback only 1 negative over a year ago, paypal sided with the buyer with a feedback of 46 and 3 very dodgy looking negs.
hardly seemed the right thing to do in my opinion, but from what i see on these boards paypal always side with the buyer....work permit granted!0 -
Once you've made your complaint to Paypal, which will go nowhere, you may want to read: http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm with a view to making a complaint. If memory serves me correctly each complaint even if it is not upheld costs Paypal £4000

I think paypal insist you send special delivery and not recorded.
I know its out of order sending a £3 sale SD.
I hate PP:mad:0 -
just out of principal i would buy something of his a few weeks down the line and then do the same trick to him. but then i just like getting revenge on people that deserve it0

Recorded is right, not special delivery.0
