What a wonderful country we now live in!
No, id go fill up again at the same station.. then cancel it. I have a 70 litre tank so would be worth my while!
As for the freeze on fuel duty, looks like the repreave will only be for 6 months. then ANOTHER 2p will go on.
Fuel price has doubled in 10 years. Thats nearly as bad as housing!0 -

Well the simple solution is to treat the money as having been debited, even though it isn't.but my partners debit card account is finely balanced and an unexpected debit could put her in an awkward position.
e.g. if you budget/move money around with a view to leaving close to a £0 balance just before payday, aim for £40 (or whatever the petrol was) instead.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Not sure if it happens with credit cards, but with debit cards it would show an authorisation on the a/c. Might be worth seeing whether the cc company have heard anything of this sort from the fuel station.DFW - DEBT FREEEEEE!

I work for a bank.
Companies have six months to claim a card payment from the account.

They will claim eventually, cancelling the card is just stupid.
It's basically theft.0 -
I don't think cancelling the card will work - when it is processed the Bank can charge it to a closed account and you would get an invoice accordingly.
I have had transactions take several weeks to appear, its very annoying and I'm not sure why it happens. I suppose its like writing a cheque and the merchant taking ages to cash it.0 -
I once hired a car in Mexico for a few days and have never been charged for it, ok it was a bit of a banger but it was the old style beetle which was excellent fun to drive. The form they fill in that shows the flat picture of the car to mark scratches etc on was completely covered once the rep marked all the dents, scratches etc on it, how they would tell there was a new bash was beyond me :-) That was 9 years ago now.....Mortgage - Free :j

Are you sure you did not press "pay at kiosk" then drive off not paying?Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0
