I want to buy a fridge freezer but there are so many to choose from! HELP!

I want an upright fridge freezer. I def don't want to pay more than £300 (around £220 would be fantastic). Don't mind what colour but silver would be a bonus.
I've looked all over the sites but I am going cross eyed at the choice.

How about a Zanussi ZEBF255? Available from John Lewis.com for £249 free delivery and 2 year guarantee. I think there is also a silver version, but I can only find the white version for £249.
Gets reasonably good write-up in Which? magazine tests for fridge freezers. Which? best buy is £430 though!

If you can try and get one with 2 compressors, the single compressors have to work very hard in hot weather and tend not to last as longWhat goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Right then, I've just gone through this one!
I initially purchased a Daewoo ERF364MBI2, reduced on the Currys website from £399.99 to £299.99. After using a couple of discount codes, I got it for £269 (including delivery!). It really is a nice Fridge Frezer, and the Stainless Steel finish looks great, however the day it was delivered I had a look at the Currys website and noticed that the Fridge Freezer I ACTUALLY wanted was in the sale (due to end tomorrow, Wednesday 26th July).
I've now called Currys and made use of their 14 day returns policy and it's being picked up this Friday, however the best bit is, yesterday I ordered the better one.
I've gone for the SAMSUNG RL39WBNS, which was £449.99, reduced to £299.99 in their sale, and after using discount codes managed to get it for £269.10 (delivered). The only problem is, is that there's huge demand for this unit and they ask you allow up to 28 days for delivery.
I've just looked on the Currys site now, and although the Samsung is still being advertised as being in the sale, it appears to be listed at full price if you search for it. If you do decide to go for this, then I'd give Currys a buzz on freephone 0500 304304 to find out why it's listed at the higher price now (as it wasn't yesterday evening). Then, if it's the one you want (and for the money it's great, in terms of size and features) just PM me and I'll send you the discount codes for 10% off, and free delivery.
Hope that helps, and I hope my mutterings make sense!0 -
The Samsung you've just purchased was the model that I tried to purchase 'instore' on Sunday, in the Dundee branch. However, at the final part of processing the order, a message appeared saying 'orders capped'. I was told that they didn't know when they'd get more in & couldn't have it!! When I then asked for the display model, I was told by a manager, 'sorry, no'! I was a wee bit miffed...
Just tried ringing that freephone number to be told that due to heavy demand, the offer was pulled at midnight last night. Despite me saying that it was still being advertised as 'on sale' in their store (& it's the model displayed on their website with a big SALE sign behind it), the lady refused to budge.
Grrrrr. Nice one Gibsonst19 for getting a bargain though!!!!

Thanks for all the help :O)
In the end I got a BEKO silver model that was in the sale in Argos.
It was £207 delivered with a £10 argos voucher thrown in.
Price was £50+ higher on loads of other web sites and I wanted to spend as little as possible after paying for my kitchen to be redone. All credit cards paid off.

Make sure you buy a frost free one, they are brilliant, no more defrosting

Its also useful if there are several of you using the freezer to have see through draws so you can tell what is in each. Also work out how many draws you actually need. You might need extral if for instance you freeze your own soft fruit or bulk buy meat.
My fridge door has sections that can be unclipped to be washed in the sink, a good idea especailly with the milk draw.
I also have 2 salad draws rather than one so I can seperate stronger smelling things.
And glass shelves are good, easier to clean down and spills dont go all the way down.

The Comet website has a comparison feature that enables you to choose the features you want and you can choose a particular price range. Really helps to narrow down the very extensive range! Definitely go 'frost free' on the freezer to save a lot of time and effort!http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/ecometHome.html0

I am in the market too. I saw this make called Gorenje in silver in a local discount place (that sells white goods graded stock etc) and thought the quality must not be up to much like Beko. Wrong.
The folk in the shop advised that Gorenje manufacture for Bosch and Smeg. Sure enough, when you look inside they are *identical* (same shelves, drawers, wine rack, etc) and electrics. The price is about half versus known brands and they save costs by making only the front in stanless steel and not the sides which are silver plastic.
Interestingly, Comet prices are not too bad. A fridge with top features is £250 + £16 delivery:
