Thanks for the letter template!
I have had a look at the letter that was sent to dh yesterday and it was sent by solicitors, on behalf of the debt collectors who are collecting on behalf of yes car credit! Who should we send the cca letter to? These guys are solicitors - I feel as though hubby shouldnt be messing with them! BTW - we were also mis-sold ppi with yes. Told dh he had to take it out in order to have the finance. I have a feeling this debt is made up mainly of that insurance. If only we could get a bloody breakdown from them to see what it is we are supposed to owe! I would send the CCA letter to the collection agency, not the solicitors. Remember not to sign the letter, and use a Postal Order so they don't get a copy of your signature.
As I understand it, Martin's article suggests that you should reclaim the PPI from YCC in the first instance. Both of these would place the account in dispute, so nothing more should happen until they have dealt with them.
As I understand, you should also be entitled to a full account statement from the collection agency. I don't think there's a template letter for that - you could just add a line saying "Please also send me a full statement of this account, detailing any charges you have applied".0 -
Hmmm...the letter says it has been instructed by direct legal and collections on behalf of hillesden securities ltd...I take it we write to dl&c? This is getting passed from pillar to post lol! I'd love to know why we have never heard from any of these before now!LBM - January 2008 ~ debt - [strike]£16,260.00[/strike] £16,90.00 ~ Debt-free date - October 2016! :eek:Official DFW Nerd Club Member No: 842 ~ Proud to be dealing with my debts!! :cool:0

oh no not hillesden securities. Now this is the fun bit. They are gits to deal with they now have a charge on my house for a 3k loan they brought. Paying them £10. Once they had sorted out the charge read their letters carefully and interpret them literally which is what i did, and i was told i was being pedantic, so i said take me bback to court and see what the judge says. if you mean one thing but write another thats your problem. ended up paying £10 per month at a rate of 3% interest, much to their disgust

We are also paying a debt to Thames Credit for a car that hubby bought from Yes car Credit which was made up of about £3500 car, plus £3000 worth of insurance policies, windscreen cover, etc. The car was handed back over and auctioned off, but we are still repaying the debt (£3900 still outstanding) to Thames ... all of which is probably the insurance policies etc. which were financed the same way as the car - I can't find the CCA though to see if there is anything dodgy in it. Is there any point asking for one after all this time of paying the debt back?Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

There seems to be a lot of info about YCC on this site
http://www.saynotoyes.co.uk/
The court case i was trying to rack my brains about definitely involved them being challenged by Stephensons solicitors, who are mentioned on the site.
Hopefully you can follow things up from here. If you get a copy of the signed agreement i would ask if you can fax it to Stephensons for their opinion on it. They can then run you through what options you have.
Mrsspendalot - the answer to your question is 'yes'!0 -
Ok, that sounds positive ... any idea where I may find a template letter? Is it Thames Credit I ask for a CCA ... and on what grounds do I ask for one after all this time? Thanks xxOlympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015
