GPS Forerunner

Am thinking of buying one of these (not sure which yet) and wondered if anyone knew the best place to get them (cheap obviously).

Any advice would be gratefully received.

thanks

  • Firstly, just a friendly note to point out this isn't the correct forum.
Mods: can someone put it in the right place please.

    Anyways, moving on.....

You didn't say whether you wanted the 101, 201, 205 or 305. Obviously, they are different. Garmin's website is usually quite good....

    I guess you'll be after a 205 (approx £100)
    or a 305 (approx £130)

If it's a Forerunner 50, it depends on whether you want the HRM or the foot thingy. http://www.sporttek.co.uk start at £62.99
The smaller the monkey the more it looks like it would kill you at the first given opportunity.

I bought the 305 from ebuyer for £130 with free delivery-excellent bit of kit. The software mentioned in the ebuyer review section is also worth downloading. Garmin have just launched a successor to the 305 that looks more like a watch so look out for any special deals on the 305
  • Buy a cheap 101 Forerunner from amazon.. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Garmin-Forerunner-Wrist-Mounted-Personal-Training/dp/B0001ILXGQ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=gateway&qid=1202401369&sr=8-2

I've got a foretrex 101, it's alright, quite fun to have on my bike but i rarely use it now

Why be so nasty to the OP, remember they are "new" and not sure where to post.
So they post anywhere they want to and if you advise them you get a barrage of abuse

OP- feel free to post where ever makes you happy

You need to email the Mods if you want this moving. The forums arent monitored, if they were the mods would move this themselves without your instruction as they would know it was in the wrong place.

Thanks to all for advice and especially to Butlers for coming to my aid. I am new to posting on here and apologise if it is in the wrong place but I feel that the almost threatening message from Showman is a disgrace.

I have watched these forums for a while and the sheer arrogance of a small minority of people is astonishing. You small minority do not own these boards and anyone is free to post and if they put it in the wrong place, cut them some slack.

You were new here once too and if you are rude to new people they will not return.

Once again thanks to all who gave constructive advice and Showman you should find something better to do than respond to posts to which you can be no help at all.

thank again, really appreciate the help.
