Astra Radio Removal

Hi all i have a Vauxhall Astra R reg and want to change the radio?
I have removed the stereo no problem but i cant seem to remove the cage surround from the inside?
Is it possible that it could be fastened round the back somehow???

if you look at the cage and run your hand round the bottom bit. i am sure itd there about halfway.
just looked in the haynes manual, it does not say take out cage just the radio. if your stuck PM and i will ask hubbie when he gets home, its what he does for a living.

Did you remember to decode the radio before you removed it, that way at least you should be able to sell/give it away with the code.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

The cage will be held in with a screw at the back. Torx 15, 8mm bolt or cross point. Remove that, squeeze the cage top and bottom centre and pull outward. Release the clips on the ISO connectors and the aerial connector in the back of the cage.

When fitting the new radio don't forget to swap the red and yellow wires so you keep the memory.
