  • depends what airline you are flying with, check their website for their current rules.

What I always do if I am taking handluggage only and am only allowed one bag is put my handbag in my holdall before I go through security, and take it out again afterwards. easy :D (can be a bit of a squeeze to fit it in sometimes but its only till you get through security)

According to Stansted Airport website most airlines that operate from Stansted are still enforcing the one bag rule. The best option is to check with the airline you are flying with

Ryanair are sticking to the one bag rule. As wishiwasarichgirl says if you can fit your handbag into your holdall you can always take it out when you get through security. I have done that loads and never had anyone say anything

Each passenger may take only ONE item of hand baggage through security control. It must be no larger than:
    • 55cm(21.7 in) tall
    • 40cm (15.7in) wide
    • 20cm (7.9 in) deep
Please note for passengers travelling with EOS and MAXjet, the following sizes are permitted:
    • 56cm (22in) tall
    • 45cm (17.7in) wide
    • 25cm (10in) deep
Please double check with your airline, as some operate further limits on bag size.
Other bags, such as handbags, may be carried within the single item of cabin baggage, but not separately.
All items carried will be X-ray screened.
    • Laptop computers and large electrical items must be placed in a separate tray.
    • Smaller items (eg cameras or mobile phones) can remain in your bag for screening.
    • Pushchairs and walking aids will be X-ray screened.
    • Wheelchairs will be thoroughly searched.
To save time, we advise you to place only valuables and items you need for the flight into your hand baggage.
