Confused...please help?!

To cut a very long story short I fell way way behind with credit card payments and now owe £372 for a £200 credit limit to a DCA and a default is lodged on my credit file. Is there anyway I could pay the balance to the credit card company instead of the DCA and get the default removed from my file??
Hope you can make sense of what I just said and any help greatly appreciated

Hiya
The credit card company will have sold the debt to the DCA, so it's them that you now owe the money to. I have heard of instances where debts have been transferred back to the original creditor, but I don't think it's common (someone will hopefully correct me if I'm wrong though).
Even if it was transferred back, the default wouldn't be removed if you clear it - it will remain in place for 6 years - so I'm not sure it would be of any benefit to do this.
Hopefully someone else will be able to offer a bit more advice - I'm not sure whether there is any point in requesting the CCA agreement from them - you sound as though you agree that the debt is yours, but it might be an option to check that they have the correct paperwork to make the debt enforceable. It's not an area I know much about though, so again, hopefully someone else will fill in the blanks."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Am not really very up on the protocol to be honest..hence the plea for help
What ia a notice of assignment form and from whom would i request it??
Many thanks again0
