I have just looked at virgin trains and they have a wide range of prices, cheapest I got was £31 return for 1 person, all that depends on the time you travel.

I have found tickets from £7 on a coach but could do with a shorter journey time (less than 4hrs!)

Put a route of Banbury and you may get cheaper fares.
  • I would go to Birmingham, then get a chiltern train to london marylebone.
I usually use thetrainline.co.uk but I can't get it to work at the moment.

It used to be the just £15 ticket, which I think went up, but this is all I can find now, from Chiltern's site (£18). You can use the return within a month of purchase, which is good!!

Tickets from Wolverhampton to Birmingham are not expensive, but without the trainline site working, I can't find an exact fare for you.

Thats great info, thanks. It costs about £4 to get to birmingham but I can get a lift into birmingham.
    I'll check thetrainline out later.

    Thanks!

That Chiltern ticket used to be available from Wolverhampton as well - it probably still is, so no need to buy a separate ticket to Brum.

And if the times fit, get a cross country train to Leamington or Banbury and change there - saves changing stations in Brum.
  • I think theres work on chiltern that weekend, I've looked at the times on trainline and there are a few changes that need to be made; although, usually when you buy that ticket, it's valid on other services, because I use it a lot, and they always seem to have work going on on sundays - its just very time consuming.
National Express coaches are usually just under 3 hours, and if you can get a funfare, can be very worthwhile, same with megabus.
    good luck with your search.

What times do you need to leave / be there for each way?
