There will be a company out there who will insure him but it may be a case of trying quite a few before you find one.
Have you tired Direct Line? My parents each have some pre-existing medical conditions and they alwasy take their insurance with them as they have never had any problems and they cover their existing conditions without any problem.
There is another post regardin insurance for someone who has type 2 diabetes may be worth trying some of the companies that have been suggested there:j Debt free since 31/01/08:j

Hiya,
I had trouble getting insurers to cover me - most refuse point blank!
I got the cheapest quote with these guys but it is probably better to shop around as it may depend on the condition(s) you need cover for. Strangely enough, the annual cover was cheaper than the single trip cover!

Another company to try is
https://www.medi-cover.co.uk
All the above will give you a quote online. Most other travel insurers will ask you answer long winded question on their medical line.0 -
Hi, having just been diagnosed as type one diabetic, now taking insulin and tablets, and having just endured a long stay in hospital I was finding getting travel insurance very expensive. In the end I went through Diabetes UK, who after going through all my medical problems, gave me comprehensive annual travel insurance for Europe fo £58. They take all medical conditions, and it wouldn't hurt to get a quote. http://www.diabetes.org.uk/How_we_help/Financial_services/Travel_insurance/
Hope that helps a bit

I have quite a few medical problems including high cholestorol and high blood pressure and for the last few years I have used www.medi-cover.co.uk. they always come out cheapest. I put my hubby on the same policy and the cost for both of us is about £90. I have had quotes from some companies of £450! You can get an online quote by just ticking the boxes. High cholesterol is down as hypercholestorolomia or something like that.0

Hubby has diabetes, heart problems and cholestral etc and we`ve just got 12months cover with our bank Lloyds TSB for £156 for both of us.0

Have you tried direct travel insurance. You do have to phone and answer medical questions but I have found them very reasonable and willing to insure a variety of medical conditionsThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Hi, my husband has diabetes too, and we both use Diabetes UK for our travel insurance. Those folks consistently beat the rest who will even quote for a diabetic and don't hide crafty stuff in the small print.

2 of my family have respiratory and heart problems. After spending hours getting quotes from specialist insurers last year, we got the cheapest and most comprehensive cover from, believe it or not, MoreThan.
It pays to shop around.0
