Whats the deal with NOT signing letters to DCA's?

Please explain, lol!
My hubs sent off a few letters to a couple of DCA's the other day and as I'd noted it being mentioned on here before I told him to leave off his signature - I dont know why though!
Is it because some DCA's do the unthinkable thing of forging sigs and the like? Surely not!

I wouldn't say it's particularly common, but it does happen.
Not sure if I can remember it happening to anyone on MSE, but it has happened to a few people on the Consumer Action Group site.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I made a suggestion on another thread that you get somebody else to sign your name on the letter requesting a CCA. It doesn't make any difference unless they try to forge your name on a document, in which case you can prove it instantly.
I know that most people just want to be rid of these scum but if you're up for a fight, this seems a pretty good way to cause them some trouble.:D0 -
I recall one of the debt charity staff who posts here reported that a CCA was returned to a colleague. The problem was that the signature on the CCA was of the person who wrote the letter, not the person who owed the debt.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

That would be funny if it wasn't also so shockingly illegal.:eek:Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
