Paypal: Payment failed because it was refused by the seller

We are getting a number of buyers emailing stating that we are refusing Paypal payments
This transaction failed because it was refused by the seller. It is possible that the seller's account information changed during your transaction. Please try again or select a different funding method.

We had this problem last year & eBay said it was because their server wasn't communicating with Paypal's Server correctly.

A number of Powerseller's are also reporting the same problem

Anyone had a valid response from eBay?

  • I have the the option to have e-cheques disabled and if someone tries to pay me that way, they get that exact message.

We also have eCheques disabled, although this is not applicable for eBay-Paypal Payments
    Block the following payments:
Pay with eCheck for website and Smart Logo payments, or German bank transfer for all website payments except eBay

I guess we'll have try it without it blocked, as we now use Google Checkout for the website payments

Paypal payments for eBay items can still be sent as an eCheques, although I do wonder if this is the problem.
