  • "normal tv"? :)
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

No. It needs to be connected to your dish, and for you to subscribe to sky.
  • I don't know a lot about sky+, but I have 3 old boxes in each bedroom, they need wiring up to the dish, I use a quad LNB, I know sky+ uses two wires to a dual LNB so it can catch 2 broadcasts at once (watch one record another feature), you may be able to get away with just one connection and use the current card to watch package programmes, or you will need another card to watch free to air programmes beyond bbc, whatever you do you will need some wires.

No, a dual LNB (for two separate satellites) won't work. You need a twin-output LNB - but these aren't made for the Sky Minidish so what you really need is a quad-output LNB.

And, as stated above, you need a Sky subscription card for the recording facility to work.
  • Dual LNB and Twin-output LNB = just about the same thing, you don't see many dual LNB's, most would assume dual in regards to Sky was a twin output.
my LNB at home is a quad LNB, never bothered with the "output" bit.

You can use Sky+ box to record with only one feed. However you can only record what you watch and you need a Sky subscription and Sky has to send a signal to activate the Sky + facility.
