BMW electrical fault

My boyfriends BMW has a problem -- the radio AND the automatic boot lock both stopped working at the exact same time. Obviously a electrical fault but he has checked fuses etc and nothing seems to be the problem. I know some fancy cars have special ways of being mended - has any one got any expert advice in order to fix this errror? Muchos thanks in anticipation.

i would jump onto one of the bmw forums for the model, i only found out how to reset my autobox profile on there as bmw dont document a lot of suff.
sounds more like a physical wire has corroded comming from the boot to the wireing loom, plus side is its not likely to cost much in parts, just find a good electrical specialist.0 -
Can't help with the answer, but lots of helpful people over on the forums at http://www.bmwcarmagazine.com/0

could be a relay problem. if you can find the correct one, its a simple matter to check by substitution.Get some gorm.0

Mostly two fuse boxes in cars have you check them all?0

Whats the model?
As some models (like totalsolutions said) have two fuse boxes one at the front and one in the boot (right side) or it could be a bad ignition switch.0 -
Hey guys,
thanks I will get him to have a look at these sugestions. The model i believe is a e39 oe something like that (def 39)0 -
BMW forums are the way to go, it's the previous module of the 5-series, the E39, which has different electrics to the current E60 5-series.0
