Hotels in Barcelona :: February 11th - 13th

Hi folks,

I've been to Barcelona around 8/9 times as I tend to love it over there and would mainly stay on the strip of Ramblas in the likes of the Royal Hotel or Petit Opera Garden Palace or just outside towards the casino in a hotel called H10 Marina.

...but anyway there are normally 3 of us who travel over. So this time my friend booked the flights at £28 return and thought brilliant, so I went to hotels.com and typed in the dates as I normally do and typed in the dates and was shocked when it brought up "0" hotels, when it normally brings up 480+ hotels in Barca.

Done the same with numerous other hotel websites and the same result, and then I come to learn that on the said dates there is a huge world conference on that attracts in the upwards of 50,000 people into the city.

If somebody could help with some sort of accomodation, I would be most grateful.

oh dear... remember there is 15% off at hotelopia somewhere on these boards. availability is rubbish, not sure if its because it is close to valentines or if there is a fooball match on. suggest you search these forums and try a private apartment.

Some rooms will add a third bed. Hostels might also be a possibility, or staying outside the city (although that may be the same story) - I suggest you start emailing or calling rooms in the above site straight away, and don't come over without anything booked .... you don't want to be sleeping rough at this time of year ...

Forgot all about Valentines to be honest, which i'm sure has a mild affect on it, but that conference would be the majority of it i'm certain.

...and as much as I love Barcelona the thoughts of a side street hostel scares the living daylights out of me.
