Cheap (very!) overseas calls

No-one seems to have mentioned budgetcom. This a straight dial up system for overseas calls using the BT 08 system. You don't have to register or log on. Just dial their country code in front of the number you require. You are billed on your normal BT account. How much? For example Brazil 1p per minute, France 2p per minute, Indonesia 5p per minute. All calls are fault it!

Budget.com is shown on the International Checker but for Brazil for instance it shows 3p a minute so far down the list of cheapest calls

Does this 1p a minute to Brazil come up on their website?

edited to add that for France there are three other companies offering 1p a minute.

If you go onto their website, you will see 'latest BudgetCom Newsmessages' (although dated 14.05.04!) stating- Brazil 1p, Colombia 1p, Estonia 1p, Poland 1p.

They havent bothered to change the site. There charges have since gone up.They are part of the same group as Dialwise,Dialaround,Pennyphone,1899,18866,etc etc. They compete with each other.

For the latest oversea rates have a look at the https://www.niftylist.co.uk which is updated daily.

Thanks but I disagree. If you dial 08444390303 -- which is the number shown on the niftylist - you will pay 3p but if you dial the number 06448612612, which is the number on the newsmessage on their website, it will only cost 1p.
I have just dialled it and the voice message confirmed 1p. It is the niftylist which isn't up to date!

Niftylist is not technically incorrect, because it goes on the latest prices, that these companies advertise on there pricing lists. But thanks for letting us know the old no still works.
