This will tell you all you need to know about the YSB. SAAS use the data from the previous tax year so if your parents haven't been working and have no income and can prove it, then you should get something. Your parents savings might have some effect if they are making an income from them, they'll need to to declare that. Mostly it goes on income though.
You having a part time job won't make any difference to your support. They don't take that in to account. However, if you're getting an income from savings (like interest) or scholarships or anything like that then it might change your support.0 -
Hi, For this year you should have contacted them and explained the situation that your dad wouldn't be earning the same figure this year, they should then have sent you a new form to fill out where you put in predicted earnings for the coming year and they'd then recalculate it and give you a new award. Might be worth still contacting them as you were clearly entitled to more than you have recieved this year.
As for next year they'll take into account interest from savings but depending on how mcuh savings your parents have this could make little difference.Bought, not Brought0 -

I didnt know about this. My dads accountant filled in all the figures on the form and we attached a letter saying my dad had sold his business however we didnt get any new form to fill in? Would it be worthwhile contacting them and explaining this?

It may well be worthwhile, considering that the closing date for applying for funding is well after the end of term so they should still be open to reviewing the situation. It happened when I was in 2nd year, my Dad was retiring half way through so i filled out a new form that showed his predicted earnings (half being his standard earnings the second half being his post retirement earnings) and they awarded me a new figure.Bought, not Brought0
