hello, just found out i need a route canal and wisdom tooth removal. as a student i thought i was covered by the nhs and so didnt have to pay but i have had to full in a HC1 form outlining my income, which is just my student loan. do you think i will be able to be exempt from the charges which have accrued to £194
on a side note i have missed 3 days of revision for my two exams next week and was wondering if people think its worth me fulling in a special circumstances form to see if i may get any leniency from the exam markers?
thanks in advance
Jon

i don't think that you'll qualify to get it free tbh - here's the nhs site that gives a list of who is except for paying:

as far as special circumstances go, if you're going to do it, do it now and not after the exams (looks very bad if only do afterwards!). you should be aware though, that your exam won't be marked differently - your marks will be considered by a committee and if you are close to a boundary they may put you up, depending on the standard of your other work. i'm not trying to put you off, but it's not going to get 5 or 10% added to your marks or anything like that!:happyhear0 -
look at ur HC1, it details how much u get free for treatment and how much you'l need to pay. If you cant work it out urself, ask your dentist, as they have ur HC1 on ur file.0

you should get quite a hefty discount providing your income is low and your expenditure for things like rent are high.0

You will need a medical certificate to back up your special circumstances.Gone ... or have I?0
