Can anyone tell me what's the cheapest way for a day return journey from John Lennon Airport to Liverpool City Centre?
Also, how much would a taxi (not an airport taxi) be each way? Just to see if it is much more expensive.
Thanks

If you are travelling after 09.30 on a weekday or anytime on a weekend you can use the Merseytravel Saveaway ticket for all train and bus travel. The cost is £3.20 - £4.30 depending on what areas you want to cover.
If you look here it has details of getting to and from Liverpool John Lennon to the City Centre.0 -
Depending on what time u arrive, you can get the 48a bus...
Cost about £1.60 I think (Aint been on a bus for ages) and it goes past my house!
Or the airport bus at night... think its about £4
You will only really be able to get an airport taxi (if thats what you call it, as they charge about £1 extra on top of the fare as they have to pay to pick up from airport) and it will probably cost you around £20.
To be honest, as soon as you come out of the airport there are loads of bus stops, within the airport itself.
Just have a look at the signs on them or ask someone... we are all really friendly... and see what time the bus to city centre is...
I think the 48a is every 1/2 hour.0 -
private hire taxi is about £12.00 each way try 0151 728 8888 meet by the yellow submarine0

Bus would be much cheaper, as highway star said, private hire would be about £12 and black cab around £17-20.
There is also the option of getting a bus to Liverpool South Parkway from the airport which would take a few minutes then getting on a local train which would be a few quid for a return.
I would go with a bus though because you get to see much more of the city.0 -
When in rome does as the romans do.
