I know the Beeb are now trialling this. I was wondering if there is any more information out there on where I can download radio shows?

You can stream radio and record it, I did have a program that could do this, but in the passage of time, I lost it. I mainly used it because I was interviewed on national radio couple of years back and wanted to keep the real player streams for posterity.

I am sure some one can enlighten you which programs are available that can don this pin. I wouldn't mind knowing again so I can search for it in my collection of data dvd's

Cheers, I was hoping rather than actually recording a stream to be able to just download a full radio show. However finding out info about recording streams would be useful.

A program called HiDownload will do the trick. You can set schedules etc... in it too, very useful program for recording those shows you'd otherwise miss.

The one the BBC is trialling is podcasts where you decide which of the programmes you want to download, set it up and everytime a new programme comes out it downloads to your computer ready for you to listen at a later date when you are ready.
If you put 'podcast' into your favorite search engine it will come up with shedloads of info about it.
Although it is called podcasting you don't need an ipod to do it or an mp3 player even (although handy if you want to listen to your radio show on the go so to speak!) you can listen via your pc.
Hope this is helpful, I may have misunderstood what it was you were asking about.
    Cheers.

Try adding http://feeds.feedburner.com/MartinsMoneyMutterings to your podcast software and you'll get the latest Martins Money Mutterings direct to your PC.

If you need some podcast software try http://ipodder.sourceforge.net/index.php

    Enjoy
