Cut images of people out of existing jpegs

Hi,
I've got photographs of people and I need to cut their pictures out of the background they are standing in front off.
It's a white wall but it has marks and drawing pins on it and I was hoping that there was a decent free or free trial version program which can detect the outlines of the person so I can cut them out and paste onto a plain background.
Thanks in advance!
Matt

Photoshop is good, just use the magnetic lasso tool to get the outline of a person. 30 day free trial https://www.adobe.com0

As I posted on a similar thread today:
Nothing can beat Photoshop, but it's expensive, but I wouldn't be without it. If you can use the trial version then do.
The GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) - is my recommendation for a free package: http://www.gimp.org/0 -
I'll give the trial version a go as I've got GIMP but it's not very user friendly!
Thanks!0 -
Also for doing a simple task like that you could use one of the home user versions of Adobe Photoshop Elements. I personally use the full version but at work I use Elements 2 which you can get really cheap (99p but watch out for postage) on ebay.
I would use the clone tool to clone the background over the areas you want to cover up. That way the background will match up.0
