Bidder in USA wins auction for a
mirror,it finishes on £2.50 but the postage
is £16.50 inc Airsure,£19 in total, pays on paypal
I look at the address and its a PO box
then think that if it goes missing ? it
wont be covered and that a po box
cant be a confirmed address.
I refund entire payment and explain
that the bidder needs to have home address
on paypal for this to work. She then replies
saying that I could use her sisters address
instead, but thats not on the paypal.
Did I do the right thing or was I over
cautious ? Part of me thinks its only
a £2.50 mirror,but in the event of a
claim would I have been able to
prove delivery enough to satisfy ebay/paypl ?
if this did get lost I could be down £19
if it went against me.
Never had anyone using a PO box
before as their paypal address.
Is this allowed ?
Do they let you use PO boxes as
your confirmed address in the States ?

I am not sure if US is the same but if she adds her sisters address to paypal in UK it becomes confirmed too.
Not sure about US though as I don't usually ship there.:j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
Some addresses in the US have to use PO boxes, as USPS doesn't deliver to their houses. Normally happens in very rural areas. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

AS you say it is very common not to have post delivered directly to your door both in the US and in Canada. Many of the relatives and friends I used to snail mail regularly had an assortment of PO addresses. When I stayed out there it was the morning job to walk or drive to the local office which was usually unmanned to let yourself in with a passkey and empty your own postal box.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
