Birth Certificate

I somehow seem to have lost my birth certificate and now need it urgently. How do I go about getting another one?

If you live near the town/city where you were born, you could call in person to the Register Office and get a copy of your birth certificate.

I'm not sure (but someone will post to help) how to do it on line.

You need to scroll down this link a little bit and the instructions are at the bottom.

You could also look up the website for the local authority in the area you were born for more info.

The last certificate I applied for took three days, including the day I posted the application. I could not use any online payment method at the time so it may be even quicker if any of the services accept the fee that way.

    If you know

where you were registered, presumably the town in which you were born, just call and either pay for a replacement with debit card, or send thema cheque. They arrive pretty quickly I seem to recall.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.
