Prepaid US Visa with $1.02 Balance But Live In UK - Ideas To Use, Plz?
Was sent a prepaid US Visa card from a rewards app.
Edit: It's a virtual card not a physical card so can't use it in a shop.
The issuer is "Tremendous" and the balance is US $1.02. I live in the UK and am stumped as to what to do with it. Amazon won't accept it, Paypal won't accept it, I've added it to eBay but can't find anything that cheap to buy and it won't let me use one payment method to part pay and another to complete the payment. Even tried donating to a US charity for an old housebound lady using GoFundMe.com, only to find that the minimum donation is $2 and again, I can't split the donation between two payment methods to make up the difference!
ANY ideas as to how I can use this that doesn't involve me loading the card as I don't trust this "Tremendous" outfit with my real card details which I would need to reveal in order to load it, also overseas transaction fees would mean I'd probably just end up paying more than $1.02 to spend it which isn't very moneysaving.
Happy to donate to a charity if I could find one that didn't have a $2 minimum donation.
Yes, I could bin it, but I'd like to do some good with it if I can and try and benefit someone in need.
Feel a bit like I found 50p, gave it to a homeless begging person and they looked at it and said no thanks, couldn't I be a bit more generous but I only had cards on me and the nearest atm was 20 miles away.

Try and make a 70p manual payment towards a utility bill. Or go and spend roughly that amount in Tesco if its an actual physical card
$1.02 is roughly 76p, but there will likely be a few p in fees so wouldnt try and do more than a 70p spend. Surely it wont let the card go into debit anyway, it a pre pay card.

Unfortunately its not a physical card so can't use it in Tesco.
Do UK utility providers accept payment in US dollars? Willing to try but fairly certain that due to currency differences it will probably be declined. Off to investigate - I'm with British Gas!

They arent accepting payment in US dollars. They are taking the payment in GBP and the card issuer is doing the conversion.
No harm in at least trying 70p although minimum for some may be £1.

Arghhhhh. Just tried at British Gas and the minimum payment is £1. And I'm with them for both my gas and electric. Good suggestion, though!

Water company?
Phone company?
Any balance to pay off holidays?
Again, minimums may still be a quid.

No water company - I'm in Scotland so it comes in with our Council Tax which is on a D/D. No landline and the mobile phone again is a contract on D/D. CenterParcs is a set percentage of the holiday price at set time.
You HAVE got me thinking, though. I have a small balance on my Barclaycard after paying it off in full but too late to avoid residual interest (my fault). Off to check if I can use it there….

Arghh. Barclaycard is a no. Anything less than a quid and it comes up "You have entered you payment amount incorrectly…." 😒

Pretty sure some mobile phone companies will still let you make a manual payment to the account even if you are on DD, log in and check.

Vodafone & O2 do but Voda min is a £, O2 min is £1.99. BT (broadband) too but that's a £ min.

You can add it to Google pay and get 70p worth of bananas.
