Does entering your Motability car Reg in Car reg/MOT sites, show it Tax except? or disabled ?
If entering your Motability car Reg into Car reg/mot sites, does it show "Tax except"? or disabled ?
on these sites where you can enter your car reg and find out details about the car
such as colour, petrol, Mot passed, Taxed etc.
When you enter a car registration that is on a motability lease, when you enter that
reg in the site, do the details show up as
- Tax Except?
- Disabled ?
- Motability ?
- Nil ?
- £0.00 ?
Does it give any 'indication' that the car is registered disabled or on Motability, to anybody who does a search ?
Can you please try this with your car,
Have you got a motability vehicle? if so can you please do this,
enter your Motability car reg into these sites and tell if it shows Tax except? Tax paid
Motability? (under the finance part perhaps ?)
Here are sites:
https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/
https://www.carcheck.co.uk
https://www.checkcardetails.co.uk

https://totalcarcheck.co.uk/
https://www.hpi.co.uk/
https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history
https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
Please tell me when you your entered vehicle on those sites, if they showed your motability vehicle as: tax except, disabled, or £0
if not, then what did it show under the tax ?

Haven't we already had a thread like this? The answer was, IIRC, no.

Why do you want to know and why do you need other people to check for - if you have a mobility car, can’t you just enter the details yourself and find out?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.5 -
We've had this question in the past. Not sure why you want to know this either. No, it doesn't tell you, all it says is "Vehicle status" taxed.

I think the previous poster was concerned about the negative publicity/headlines about ' Taxpayers paying for people driving around in luxury cars ' Or that their disability was not that obvious and some neighbour was checking its status. Just guessing.
OP - I checked the gov.uk vehicle enquiry for our vehicle ( which is not motability, but is registered for free disabled car tax)
It just says it is taxed and nothing else.
At the bottom of the page it says this;
View the tax rates for this vehicle
If you have the latest 11 digit reference number from the V5C registration certificate (logbook) you can view the tax rates for this vehicle.

Just out of interest, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) recently adjudicated a case brought by someone complaining that their vehicle showed as 'Motability Finance' when checked on these sort of sites.
The FOS ajudjed it was not in a breach of any regulations and did not uphold the complaint.

A Motability vehicle is only Tax Free as far as you are concerned it is not tax exempt.

Was "tax free" - it appears that the government / motability want to change that status
If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.0 -
In what way ?

By charging VAT and Insurance Premium tax on new leases !
VAT being Value Added TAX

That is different and does not affect the car tax( but I get your point) .
For clarity some Motability leases will remain VAT free, if they are wheelchair adapted, or similar.
