Employer failing to report my wages to HMRC

Hi,

The business I work for changed hands at the beginning of March, at which point we were being paid weekly with payroll being run in-house.

From the outset, my new employer's intention was to transition to a monthly pay schedule with payroll across the group being run from a central hub which was already in place.

Since takeover we have been paid four times, with a PAYE reference showing on payslips since mid March and tax and NI deductions throughout.

I receive UC top up and this week I received a request from the DWP to attend a meeting at the job centre to discuss my work commitment - I work 40 hours p/w!

It transpires that my employer has failed to submit any RTI information to HMRC, meaning it seems as though I'm not currently working.

I've obviously queried this with my manager who's told me that the delay in reporting is due to HMRC "not having issued them with log in credentials to access the payroll system, so they're unable to proceed with submissions"

Does this ring true? I'm not au fait with PAYE setup, but get the distinct feeling I'm being fobbed off!

Sounds reasonable, they do get a grace period to report the earnings, unfortunately for you it might muck up your UC when hey do report it, make sure you get UC have a copy of your payslips as you get them so they can (attempt!) to keep your payments correct.

As someone who runs a Ltd co, PAYE was the longest bit to get fixed.
As above, it could be a couple of months.
