Co Op Staff in Swanage trying to force me to accept torn ten pound notes from the till.
Yesterday i had to misfortune of requesting a paypoint cashout voucher at Swanage Co Op. I requested the man severeal times if he might be able to credit it to my card, he totally ignored me untill after about the fourth time he replied that hes not allowed. He practically ordered me to scan my voucher under the card reader with no politeness it all felt very awkward and embarrasing how unkind I was being treated. He then put two torn ten pound notes down on the counter and a load of fives. I passed the torn ten pound note back.. it was half ripped through the middle and another one was taped together which may well have been rejected by another person if I tried to spend it. I examined the notes and asked that they be exchanged and he even complained or made some sound as though I was the one being unreasonable for not wishing to accept torn notes? I am deeply shocked that a supermarket would be trying to get rid of torn notes on myself for being given a paypoint voucher to cash. This is the only cheapish supermarket for miles around and now I dont feel like ever wanting to go in there again I feel really embarrassed and unvalued as a customer going in there for the past 5 years. I just saw a thread here yesterday saying a co op took torn notes away from a customer and refused to replace or return them, now imagine them trying to hand over similar dubious tender to me and complaining I wouldnt accept it!

Sorry, I'm not sure if there's a question in there.
This feels like it belongs in the Praise, vent & warnings subforum, I've requested for it to be moved.

The place to ask about this would be in the Co Op in Swanage. Ask to speak to the store Manager.
My father did it many times in that particular store. He lived in Bell Street. If you are not happy at the time stand your ground and ask to speak to either a supervisor or the Manager.
If you are then not happy with the response you can write to :
