Ad-hoc manual pension contributions to workplace pension and tax relief

Looking at the link it states:
You’ll need to upload or send proof for each tax year you claim for. This can be a letter or statement from your pension provider, or a payslip from your employer. This proof must include:
your full name
details of the pension contributions paid and the tax year they relate to
evidence that you received 20% tax relief automatically from your employer — if you’re claiming for a workplace pension
As only my manual ad-hoc payment will have 20% tax relief (all payments made through salary sacrifice will have had full tax relief) can I just request from Scottish Widows a letter than informs me I only received 20% tax relief on the manual payment?

You could. I do not know what sort of online access you have to the SW pension but I imagine somewhere on there you should be able to see (and print off) a record of the contributions you have made and the tax relief claimed by the scheme.

They normally just used to be happy with you supplying the figures, but recently have been looking for some evidence ( due to fraudulent/ mistaken claims)
Probably a screenshot or a downloaded document should be fine. Probably there will be a suitable document on your SW online account, without having to specifically request one .
