Abit of tidying this morning. Cardboard box out which had part of thr dvd collection I've inherited and put in other containers that are lying around. More like with like.
Cousin coming in about 10 days to help so biting the bullet and laying things out in bedroom which had new carpet and is empty until furniture from my dad's arriving.
Found a use for some of my record card collection and writing an inventory of things like duvets so know how many. V cold house so in winter need 2 on beds but have many single duvets I think and no single beds. Keeping one or two as dd sometimes has friends to stay who may be camping on the floor or sofa!

Mr V took loads of broken stuff from around the garden to the tip.
Plumber is coming next week to fit a new radiator in the sitting room. Good, it's bloomin freezing in there with the current too small radiator. I sat last night with Mr V's dressing gown on over my clothes. New radiator means the curtains need to change. So a new curtain track needs to be bought and fitted and I need to shorten some curtains that I was given. I may replace them in the future but they will do for now. As soon as I cross something off the to do list, twice as many things need adding.
I am home alone as Mr V has taken the car to the dealership for a service. Too far to come home and go back again later so he is dangerously filling time in a shopping centre.I am actually going to get the sewing machine out and make a start on the curtains.
I am enjoying the newly sealed window at the top of the stairs. The old sealant was black and flaky. Small wins.
Granny Kate, I dread to think what is squirreled away in Mr V's shed village.
Vx

A friend returned a book I’d leant her yesterday. This is excellent news as it means that I can now tip over the £5/10 item minimum for Ziffit! Whoop!

Been busy decluttering away here
I had some boots that started with some holes so they have gone in to the bin they have done me well.
We seem to have new jigsaw around the house belonging to my DS and OH so I put them away in a cupboard for when they are needed
Some more boxes and paper work in the recycling, as well as some other bits, some more things for the charity bag, I'm still keeping on top of my emails which is very good for me
Sold 2 more items yesterday so they have been posted today, I used up some more packaging.
I sorted out my ribbon box which I have been putting off but it didn't take long, there was some of the lights that you put into jars the batteries that had leaked so they are in the recycling bag for batteries, not sure if the lights will work again, I try them later if not I will put them into the bin.
Been watching some of my programs, I watching one about the Titanic that I recorded over Christmas which is really interesting especially as I have been to Belfast to see where it was built.
Hope everyone is well and keeping worn

@TTC77have you ever tried putting a spare single quilt onto your mattress, underneath the sheet? It gives an extra later of warmth underneath.

J arrived at 8am - silly nannie didn't realise that there were 2 battery packs with the power washer - I had only charged one. J first of all cleared out the gulley in front of the garage for when he power washes the drive - I had visions of a flooded garage. J power washed the side alley and the mucky dustbin is clean and back in it's cubby hole. I wonder if it was a thing in the 1970s to make a space in the building for a dustbin - never seen it before.
J carried on with power washing the back garden slabs - what a difference.
When the battery ran out - J got a bucket of hot soapy water and washed down the front paintwork - then the back!
J worked so hard in the 3 hours he was here. He will be back the next weekday with good weather when he isn't working.
My friend arrived and we went off to the local auction house - had an adventure finding it. We took the vintage items that had been donated to the charity shop. I took the bag of stuff that I found in the glass cabinet the other day. The woman thought I was putting them in under my name but I am donating to the SA.

@Floss we have a duvet on our mattress as well. Funny we are a bit like the princess and the pea. We have an electric blanket, wool mattress protector, duvet and then the sheet. One of our cats occasionally pees on our bed and the wool mattress protector is a nightmare to wash and dry especially in the winter. The duvet keeps us snug and is easy to wash in case of disaster. Our actual duvet has been washed more than any duvet known to mankind. I ended up going weekly for a while. Fortunately the weeing has stopped at the moment.
