Parking Eye Appeal

Evening all,
Received a Parking Eye PCN. Prince Regent Swimming Complex, Brighton. Run by Freedom Leisure/ Council.
Not disputing that we were there; we paid the £1 parking fee at the complex reception, can see the payment on my banking app.

There is a machine at reception to add reg details. However reception can’t find our reg details entered for that particular day and advised that sometimes people forget to press the confirm button…anyway they won’t help.
Should the appeal be made on the basis that we did indeed make the payment? I have the £1 payment to the complex on my banking app but it doesn’t prove it was for parking…
Thanks 🙏

So the system is set up to trap people? The registration machine doesn’t work properly as it doesn’t accept registrations every time. Nobody on reception tells you this but they still take your payment. Clearly a faulty machine
I wouldn’t pay the PCN3 -

It is a bit strange that the registration machine and payment to reception are not connected 🤷♂️Jame4ters said:So the system is set up to trap people? The registration machine doesn’t work properly as it doesn’t accept registrations every time. I would ignore it then just defend in court which is actually easier than appealing, and fairer. Also likely to be discontinued so you'd pay nowt.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Just to update on this, as predicted here, we were offered a £20 ‘goodwill gesture’ to settle from ParkingEye.
But we managed to get a response from Freedom Leisure and they have canx the PCN - yay!
Thanks for your help!4 -

Do glad you achieved this early doors, because if you'd tried POPLA first, the landowner cancellation door would have been closed by ParkingEye.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
