Not used what enough ? Biometrics on your phone or the Ulster app ?HeadScratching said:Now trying to access the funds to pay but can only withdraw £2k daily. I downloaded the app but it won't let me register biometrics (the additional security element which would let me increase the daily amount) because I've not used it enough!
Increasing the daily withdrawal limit to £20k by using biometrics was one of the first things I did after logging into the app for the first time, so it should be possible to do that straight away. I did this because I didn't want to be either limited to £2k or have to get a card and use a card reader.

Not sure this is the case as I have withdrawn £20k on numerous occasions. In face I did just this a couple of days ago.gunjin said:Be warned that they've got some pretty drastic withdrawal limitations on this account. £750 to £2000 max per day. If you are looking to dump a large sum into this be aware it could take you a long time to get it out of there! Does not look like there is a CHAPS option for larger amounts too (but I could be wrong on that).0 -
Not used the app enough, I only just downloaded it as I previously used their Anytime online banking. Managed to speak to a helpline last night but he couldn't help, just told me to 'keep using the app so I could eventually register for biometrics' - said it might take two days or two weeks.. I keep trying to register but it just says keep using the app until it tells me I am eligible to register. And currently I can only withdraw £750 per day, not even £2000. So that's what I'm doing until I can get the biometrics registered, then withdraw everything and close the account. Will not be touching Ulster again regardless of any shiny new enticing accounts... lesson learned!refluxer said:

Yes, no problem withdrawing larger amounts. Just needs to be set up. I have done it many times. Indeed I withdraw more than £2k each month for regular savers0

Managed to speak to a helpline chap last night but he said he wasn't high enough in the hierarchy to arrange a card reader, PIN etc for me and that it could take up to two weeks to get one posted to me and it would be quicker to keep using the app until I was deemed able to register for biometrics and thence increase my withdrawal limit. Again that could take up to two weeks...Brewer21 said:
I do believe you can increase you daily withdrawal limit to £20k. If you go into online banking to do this, you'll need a card reader, try it.HeadScratching said:
I opened this savings account to safely store some funds short term to pay a bill 3 months later. Wish I'd seen this thread first! The summary sheet t&cs said money can be withdrawn at any time but did not state a maximum daily amount. Now trying to access the funds to pay but can only withdraw £2k daily. I downloaded the app but it won't let me register biometrics (the additional security element which would let me increase the daily amount) because I've not used it enough! And I can't close the account completely without emptying it, which at £2k daily will take time I don't have before the bill needs paying. Cora the chat bot is useless; the links she sends don't work or are irrelevant and I'm still waiting for 'Cora's colleague' to respond online. Does anyone have a contact number for a real person at Ulster? So frustrating...gravel_2 said:

I seem to recall there is a sub menu somewhere in the online site where you can order a card reader. This may helpHeadScratching said:

What is a card reader and how do I use one | Ulster Bank NI1 -
Thank you all for your advice. I have ordered a card reader, PIN etc which could take 5-10 days for delivery.
Update: I can apparently withdraw £7999.99 daily via a phone call request, which is the maximum I can withdraw without jumping through additional security questions which they could not actually provide for me to answer as my account is only two months old... Sigh.... In the meantime I am also trying to make the app my friend by constantly logging into it so that I can register my biometrics.0 -
I'm puzzled by all this. I installed the app and set up biometrics, and was able to up my daily limits immediately. I have no history with Ulster, but do have RBS and NatWest accounts (and their apps) - so maybe that helped.I’m a Forum Senior Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & Investments, Budgeting & Bank Accounts, and Techie Stuff boards. Can confirm that. I had an account with Ulster at one time and could set everything up; but also been with NatWest since the time of the Pharaohs.sausage_time said:I'm puzzled by all this. Once you have biometrics setup in the future things will go much easier though.HeadScratching said:
